Programme strands

Intoart’s new Archive Space is being developed through a programme facilitated by Intoart artists, as a public platform for research, conversation and exchange, artistic progression and projects.

We are building Intoart's archive to include original artworks by Intoart artists, research and diaries, photographic documentation and films.

Individual artist archives will be accompanied by archives of Intoart’s collective projects, exhibitions, audio recordings, events, texts and films to map Intoart’s collective practice representing the different roles that members of the collective take on.

1. Research – We are developing our own responses to a range of archives through site visits and talking to archivists, including V&A, Tate, Whitechapel Gallery and Royal Academy archives.

2. Individual practice – We are working in the studio to continue to develop our own artwork. Each artist is exploring how to archive their work to reflect their own way of working and sharing this with other people

3. Under construction – We are working with archivists to develop the systems and ways of presenting  Intoart’s archive

4. Collective Action  - We will be using the Intoart Archive as a starting point to develop ideas for new projects, exhibitions and collaborations

5. Live Research - We are developing events, performances, exhibitions, workshops and residencies to share the archive with other people, working across wider art and social contexts

Live Archive programme is funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation. Intoart is supported by Arts Council England as a National Portfolio Organisation.
